Helena

The surf is a pretty ordinary 1-2ft, but clean this morning so after a quick session with the better half Helena, Bret and Charlie I decided to Photoshop up a portrait of Helena. She has a bit of a vampire obsession so I vamped up this shot of her a bit, it killed a few hours, ha!!

Shelly crab and sunshine

Shelly crab, sunshine and surf

Another beautiful sunshiney day today at The Park and some of that east swell remains around 2ft and super clean. Though is was hitting the banks pretty straight on making for very fast and often unmakeable lefts and rights. But the clear blue skies and light were perfect for a day on the beach, so I swam out with the water camera rig to try and get inside some of those quick crystaline barrels this morning. Spotted Shelly on the beach too this arvo and it looked like she was having fun in the sun too!!

That swell hadn’t decaded too much by this morning, in fact I was woken to cracking lips out front in the offshore breeze at first light. The Yo Nezzle on the Coal Coast was off it’s head as the sun came over the horizon, reeling off these empty lefthand barrels with only guy one on them! I Shot these from my back garden decking with the 600mm before brekky - too easy! The swell fattened out and backed off around 10.30am with the high tide but was cracking again by mid arvo. Bret Walker Art

Bret Walker Art

A good friend of mine and artist/web designer  Bret Walker asked me to do a portrait shoot for him as a promotional image. I wanted to create a piece that depicted him clearly as an artist and so I started brain storming ways to portray him. The end result was this. A little wacky and off the wall but I think achieved our goal!

Day Wrecker!!!

June 11 2009 Categorized Under: Uncategorized No Commented

Well as a new clean swell graced our shores on the South Coast NSW I thought we’d be in for a great days shooting, how wrong can you be!! So off I went to check “Ours” Cape Solander and arrived to be met with Clean offshore 4-6 footers and no one out. A dream for a surfer and a nightmare for a photographer!! A few phone calls confirmed most of the local chargers were away and no-one would be surfing!! A few more phone calls later confirmed a local offshore reef to be firing and my mate Dallas was up for the paddle if I’d do the swim to shoot…. long story short, half hour swim out to perfect kegs and the camera packed up in the housing, long angry swim back. Nothing achieved. So sorry for the lack of shots… Day wrecker…heres one of empty “Ours” this morning…Cape Solander firing with no takers this morning
